The Port and Terminal Multiservice Limited (PTML) Command of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has announced a significant revenue growth from January to September 2025, collecting N350 billion.
The Customs Area Controller of the Command, Comptroller Joe Anani made this known at his maiden press briefing on Friday, revealing that the Command also intercepted two containers of Prohibited Items.
Comptroller Anani noted that the figure ₦350,347,173,787.92 collected, is 96.64% and almost equivalent to the ₦362,521,085,250.98 amount generated by the Command from January to December, 2024.

He informed that the Command raked in ₦116,243,603,670.58 as revenue in the third quarter of year 2025, reflecting a 34.3 percent increase from the figure ₦86,584,012,733.43 collected for the same period under review in 2024.
Comptroller Anani explained that the feat depicted the Command’s continued effort to maintain steady increase in revenue collection amidst teething challenges of the B’Odogwu platform which the Command is fast overcoming.
Speaking on anti- smuggling drive, the PTML Command’s Chief revealed that two containers of unregistered medicines were intercepted including: 1X20FT container with marks and number GCNU1275880 falsely declared as supermarket items; and 1x40ft container with marks and number ACLU9806850 falsely declared as magnetic resonance imaging apparatus.

To him, after 100% examination, the first container was found to contain 6,262 cartons of antibiotics of various brands while the second one which was falsely declared as magnetic resonance imaging apparatus has unregistered medicines.
The Command also intercepted One (1) WE Tactical made in Taiwan Airsoft pistol, Two (2) magazines and 12 rounds of live ammunition.
The Controller further warned that the Command’s anti-smuggling and enforcement drives remain intact without compromise. “As a command, we are not compromising national security on the altar of trade facilitation,” he stressed.
“I have visited various agencies of government and received them in my office on similar visits where we renewed our resolve for regular cooperation, inter agency collaboration, intelligence sharing and crime prevention strategies.
“I want to thank our Stakeholders and urge them once again to stay on the path of obedience to the law. Compliance saves time, saves money and helps in building a reputation for business growth towards migration into the AEO status,” the Controller added.
The seized items were subsequently handed over to National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) in accordance with the policy thrust of the Comptroller General of Customs, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi on strategic partnership.
While receiving the seized items Dr Olakunle Olaniran Director, Port Inspectorate Division of NAFDAC who received the seizures commended the NCS for their life saving enforcement drive and advancing the objectives of Memorandum of Understanding signed by the two parties.
He also urged the Public to desist from patronising unregistered pharmaceutical vendors.
The NAFDAC Director further praised Comptroller Anani for supporting NAFDAC in it’s duty to safeguard Nigerian lives by ensuring such prohibited medicines including hypertension drugs and other prescription medications without NAFDAC Numbers do not find its into market.
