The Customs Area Controller of Oyo/Osun Area Command, Comptroller Gambo Iyere Aliyu, on Monday 6 October 2025 paid a courtesy visit to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) Zonal Command, Ibadan.
In a statement signed by the Command’s spokesperson, Assistant Superintendent of Customs 1, Abdulmalik Abiodun Akintola on Tuesday, 7 October 2025, the visit is part of the Area Controller’s continued effort to deepen inter-agency cooperation and enhance the fight against economic sabotage.
During the visit, Comptroller Aliyu commended the EFCC for its unwavering commitment to the fight against corruption, economic crimes, and financial misconducts that threaten the nation’s economic stability.
He described the Commission as a vital partner in the pursuit of transparency, accountability, and economic integrity in Nigeria.
“The EFCC has, over the years, earned a solid reputation as one of Nigeria’s leading anti-corruption and law enforcement agencies,” Comptroller Aliyu stated. “Your unwavering commitment to the fight against financial crimes continues to safeguard the integrity of our nation’s economy. The Nigeria Customs Service equally shares in this vision of protecting our economic frontiers and ensuring national growth.”
He highlighted the close alignment between the mandates of both agencies, emphasizing the need for continued intelligence sharing, joint operations, and mutual support in tackling illicit financial flows, money laundering, and trade-related economic offences.

The Area Controller reaffirmed the readiness of the Oyo/Osun Area Command to work closely with the EFCC in promoting information exchange, joint enforcement efforts, and collaborative investigations, noting that effective synergy between both institutions will greatly enhance national revenue generation and strengthen Nigeria’s economic security framework.
Comptroller Gambo Aliyu further lauded the EFCC’s achievements in asset recovery, financial crime prosecution, and public enlightenment on anti-corruption, describing them as inspiring and in line with the Nigeria Customs Service’s renewed commitment to integrity and professionalism.

In his remarks, the Zonal Commander of the EFCC appreciated the visit of the Customs Area Controller delegation, expressing readiness to sustain the existing partnership and to deepen cooperation in the areas of intelligence, enforcement, and training.
The courtesy visit, according to Comptroller Aliyu, marks another milestone in the Oyo/Osun Command’s ongoing engagement with sister security and law enforcement agencies to foster unity, strengthen operational capacity, and advance the collective goal of protecting Nigeria’s economic interests.
