As part of the ongoing effort to strengthen partnerships with sister security agencies in the State, the Customs Area Controller of Oyo/Osun Area Command, Comptroller Gambo Iyere Aliyu, on Friday 3 October 2025, paid courtesy visit to the Commissioner of Police Femi Haruna at Eleyele, Ibadan.
This was contained in a statement signed and made available by the Command’s PRO, Assistant Superintendent of Customs 1, Abdulmalik Abiodun Akintola on 5 October 2025.
According to the statement, Comptroller Gambo Aliyu commended the Nigeria Police Force for its unwavering dedication and professionalism in the protection of lives and properties, as well as maintaining peace and order across the State, during the meeting.
He noted that the Nigeria Police remains a vital partner in the collective effort to safeguard the nation, stressing that its proactive measures have significantly contributed to the stability and security of the state.
“The Nigeria Customs Service recognizes the enormous challenges of policing a vibrant state like Oyo, yet you continued to discharge your responsibilities with courage, diligence, and resilience. Our agencies share a common goal service to the nation and it is only through collaboration in intelligence sharing, joint operations, and border security that we can achieve sustainable success,” Comptroller Aliyu said.

The Customs Area Controller further assured the Police Command of the Command’s continuous commitment towards strengthening inter-agency cooperation.
He emphasized that such partnerships are critical in tackling smuggling, economic sabotage, and other criminal activities that undermine national security and economic stability.
In his remarks, the Commissioner of Police Femi Haruna, appreciated the visit and reaffirmed the readiness of the Force to continue working in collaboration with the Nigeria Customs Service to ensure peace and security within the State.

The visit reflects the Nigeria Customs Service’s commitment to building stronger ties with sister security agencies under Comptroller Gambo Iyere Aliyu’s leadership, thus enhancing operational synergy for the state’s and nation’s benefit.
