The Comptroller-General of Customs (CGC), Bashir Adewale Adeniyi MFR, on Thursday, 10 July 2025 embarked on an inspection tour of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA) Lagos, accompanied by the Managing Director of Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), Olubunmi Kuku, Regional General Manager Southwest, Olatokunbo Arewa, and other officials.

The focus of this visit is to strengthen border control measures, improve trade facilitation, ensure compliance with global financial standards and enhance operations at the international and cargo terminals.

This move underscored the CGC’s commitment to modernizing customs operations, boosting revenue collection, enhancing security protocols, and facilitating legitimate trade.

As the CGC inspect facilities at MMIA, he aims to identify areas for improvement and implement strategies to optimize customs processes, ultimately contributing to Nigeria’s economic growth and security.
