.. Graduates 50 Senior Course 12 Officers

The Nigeria Customs Command and Staff College (NCCSC) on Monday, 30 June 2025, organised a regimental dinner in honour of its outgoing members of directing staff and graduating students of Senior Course 12 Officers at Gwagwalada, Abuja.
The occasion, which also marked the second reunion of past members, was attended by the Comptroller General of Customs, who double as the World Customs Organisation (WCO) Council Chair, CGC Bashir Adewale Adeniyi MFR, and other dignitaries.
In his address, the CGC urged the graduands to exemplify integrity, professionalism and dedication in their future endeavors.
He emphasised that as ambassadors of the college, they were expected to show the value instilled in them during their stay in the school.
“By exploring all those virtues not only honour the Legacy of the college but set high standards for others to follow,” he stated.
He expressed gratitude to the outgoing directing staff and also recognised the contribution of the retired ones.
The WCO Council Chair highlighted the importance of attending the Senior Course at the NCCSC, stating it is a cornerstone to carrier development and capacity building for Officers.
“It provides necessary skills, leadership awareness and public speaking needed for officers to face increasing responsibilities both in staff Command and Public,” he said. “Every Individuals who have had the privilege of attending the course gain invaluable insight that not only benefit them personally but also contribute to the growth of the Service”.
Adeniyi encouraged the graduating Officers to take up responsibilities and tackle challenges facing the country, leveraging the skills and the competence acquired during their training.
“Use your experience to add value to improving revenue generation, tackling insecurity, and impacting lives of the citizens,” he added.
Earlier, the Commandant of the College, Assistant Comptroller General, ACG Oluyomi Adebakin noted that the colourful dinner night, marked the end of duty call for eight directing staff who had completed their scheduled two-year term at the college.
ACG Adebakin urged the outgoing Officers to uphold the doctrine of the Service and preserve the standards of the College.
In her words, “The directing staff were once students at the college who became lecturers after distinguishing themselves with character and competence. They are scheduled to serve a two-year term at the college, executing policies assigned to them at their various levels.
“The college modules and teaching techniques are facilitated by these professionals, who instil these ideas in every student passing through the College. After completing their scheduled time, they are redeployed to other Units, Commands and Departments, in line with the college tradition, to further contribute to the ongoing transformation of the Service operational procedures,” she stated.
