As new Islamic year 1447 AH began, the President, Nasrul-Lahi-L-Fatih Society (NASFAT), Dr. Ayodeji AbdulWahid AbdulRauf on Yawm al-Khamis (Thursday) urged Muslims and all citizens to promote National Unity by embracing the values of hard work, determination, perseverance, and love.
Dr. Ayodeji made the call in Lagos, while extending heartfelt wishes to every Muslim Ummah on the new Islamic year, encouraging them to reflect on the significance of the new year and its enduring relevance to the wellbeing of humanity, particularly in light of the prevailing insecurity in our country.
He also called for migration from societal vices to attitude that promote cohesion.
His words, “As we commence the year 1447 AH, I call upon Muslims and all citizens of Nigeria to embrace the values of hard work, determination, perseverance, and love.
“On this day, I encourage every Nigerian to migrate from societal vices and adopt behaviours that promote national unity and cohesion.
“Let us take time to reflect on the significance of the Hijrah and its enduring relevance to the wellbeing of humanity, especially in light of the prevailing insecurity in our country.
“I extend my heartfelt wishes to the Muslim Ummah for a joyful and fulfilling Hijrah as we embark upon this new year in the Islamic calendar. May it herald an era of peace and prosperity.
“Let us strive to be exemplary ambassadors of our nation wherever we may find ourselves around the world.
“NASFAT will offer prayers for the wellbeing of all citizens and residents across nations, and for the prosperity of our respective countries and their people. We also renew our call for unity, peace, and progress, and express hope for a successful and prosperous Hijrah year, 1447 AH”.
