Kwara State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board has commenced the immunisation of 2,174 intending pilgrims ahead of the 2025 Hajj exercise.

Speaking at the flag-off ceremony in Ilorin, the Executive Secretary of the Board, Alhaji Abdulsalam Abdulkadir described the immunisation as a mandatory requirement by Saudi government for all pilgrims.

He said the vaccination is crucial for ensuring health and safety of pilgrims during the Hajj pilgrimage.

According to him, the immunization program is designed to prevent the spread of diseases, ensure safe and healthy experience for pilgrims.

The Executive Secretary stated that the first batch of intending pilgrims from the state are scheduled to be airlifted to Saudi Arabia on Monday, 12 May 2025.

He noted that the vaccination exercise would end on Wednesday, 30 April 2025, and distribution of uniforms and travel bags will follow immediately.

Alhaji Abdulkadir appealed to all intending pilgrims to complete all necessary medical and travel arrangements within the stipulated timeline to ensure hitch free Hajj exercise.
