The Nigeria Customs Service, Oyo/Osun Area Command has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening inter-agency collaboration with security agencies in the state to boost efficiency and effectiveness in their operations.
Customs Area Controller of the Command, Comptroller Joseph Olugbuyi Adelaja made the commitment on Tuesday, 25 March 2025, when he led a team of senior officers on a courtesy visit to strategic partners, including the 2 Division of the Nigerian Army, Nigeria Immigration Service, and the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) in the State.
According to a statement issued by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, Assistant Superintendent of Customs 11, Abdul Malik Akintola, Comptroller Adelaja expressed appreciation for the opportunity to engage with fellow security agencies and acknowledged their critical roles in safeguarding national borders, protecting lives, and maintaining security.
He reiterated the Nigeria Customs Service’s core functions, which includes-revenue generation, trade facilitation, and suppression of smuggling.
The Area Controller emphasized the Command’s commitment to strengthening collaboration with security agencies for enhanced efficiency and effectiveness.
He also called for increased cooperation in joint training programs, coordinated border operations, and enhanced intelligence sharing to ensure national security and economic stability.
The General Officer Commanding 2 Division of the Nigerian Army, the Controller of the Nigeria Immigration Service, and the Zonal Director of NAFDAC on their parts, expressed their unwavering support and reaffirmed their commitment to continued collaboration with the Nigeria Customs Service.
