The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Lagos Industrial Area Command (LIAC), has welcomed Comptroller Sarah Wadinda as its new Customs Area Controller (CAC).
Comptroller Wadinda took over the reins on Thursday, February 6, 2025, following the retirement of Comptroller Rebecca Chokor.
According to a statement issued by the Command’s public relations officer, Superintendent of Customs, SC JD Tomo, on Thursday, the new Area Controller pledged to facilitate trade with an open-door policy for officers and stakeholders.
She emphasized the importance of aligning the Command’s activities with the Comptroller General of Customs’ policy thrust of collaboration, innovation, and consolidation.

Comptroller Wadinda also held a maiden meeting with Heads of Unit and stakeholders on Thursday, February 13, 2025 to foster collaboration and enhance revenue drive.
During the meeting, she reiterated her commitment to achieving effective cooperation between LIAC and excise traders on trade facilitation and excise regulation compliance.
She also encouraged stakeholders to familiarize themselves with NCS laws for seamless excise trade and stronger trade relationships.
Comptroller Wadinda reaffirmed her commitment to building on the legacy left by her predecessor and upholding the core values of the Nigeria Customs Service professionally.
The Lagos Industrial Area Command monitors the production processes, ensuring compliance with Excise regulations, and facilitate trade by providing necessary support and guidance to Excise traders.
