The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has launched a training program for its indigenous software, B’Odogwu, at the Apapa Area Command, with over 110 participants including declarants and traders in attendance.
The training which began on Wednesday February 19, 2025, is part of the Service’s efforts to modernize its operations, enhance trade facilitation and revenue generation.
According to the Lead Trainer, Assistant Comptroller of Customs (AC) CA Nwachukwu, the B’Odogwu platform, officially known as the Unified Customs Management System (UCMS), aims to facilitate seamless customs clearing processes.
“The system’s nicknamed “Odogwu” symbolizes strong, resilience, reliability, and dependability, reflecting the platform’s indigenous roots,” She stated.
AC Nwachukwu informed that with B’ Odogwu, clearance times are expected to be significantly reduced.

“The training is ongoing, and the Service will continue to take in more declarants and traders. The response from participants has been outstanding, with many showing keen interest in learning more about the platform.
“This is the first training for Apapa, following a similar exercise held at PTML. The NCS aims to enhance trade facilitation and revenue generation through the B’Odogwu platform,” she said.
