Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA) Area Command of the Nigeria Customs Service has achieved a historic milestone, generating a total sum of N71,633,687,108.84k in revenue for the year 2024.
This impressive feat surpasses the Command’s revenue target of N56,861,094,269.07k for the year, representing a 20% increase.
According to a press statement signed by DSC Usman Abdul, Public Relations Officer of the Command on Friday, 10 January 2025, Comptroller Effiong John Harrison, Customs Area Controller of the Command, attributed the command’s success to the dedication and commitment of its officers and men, who adhered to high operational standards.
Comptroller Harrison noted that the revenue generated in 2024 is unprecedented in the Command’s history.
He revealed that the Command’s revenue growth is also notable, as it increased by ₦41,130,179,709.75k in 2024 compared to N30,503,507,399.09k generated in 2023, representing a 135% growth.
He also expressed gratitude to the Comptroller-General of Customs, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, and other stakeholders for their support.
The Command’s achievement is a testament to its efforts to enhance revenue generation and facilitate trade and as it looks to 2025, the Command is optimistic about achieving even greater milestones in fulfilling its core mandates.
