The Maritime Workers Union of Nigeria (MWUN) under the leadership of Comrade (Prince) Dr. Adewale Adeyanju, fnli, HFCPSP has extended warmth greetings to Christians globally on the celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ, stressing the importance of his sacrifice on the Cross of Calvary for mankind redemption.
In a statement issued by Comrade John Kennedy Ikemefuna, Head of Media for the Union on Tuesday, Prince Adeyanju admonished all Christians to reflect on the benefit of Jesus’ birthday on mankind, emphasizing that the yuletide season is to show unflinching love, mercy and forgiveness which aligns with the deeds of Jesus Christ while on earth.
The President General also enjoined Christians to be more tolerant, be their brothers keeper and sustain the tempo of great character in the course of celebrating the birth of Jesus.
“Christmas is the season of giving and sharing, hence, we must remember to show love and compassion to the needy in our society as we celebrate and rejoice.
“The Union is also extending our good hands of fellowship towards our stakeholders in the Maritime sector; the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), Nigeria Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA), Nigerian Shippers Council (NSC), STOAN, NASO, NIMASA, and SAN during this season as we wish Christians and the generality of Nigerians a Merry Christmas and Happy New year in advance,” he added.
