The Customs Officers’ Wives Association, (COWA), Port and Terminal MultiService Limited (PTML) Command has celebrated year 2024 yuletide season in a dynamic and engaging way for all members- children and adult alike, as they were treated to pleasant surprises and gifts.
Speaking at the event held at PTML Mile 2, COWA Secretariat Apapa, Lagos, on Thursday, 19 December 2024, the COWA Chairperson, Mrs. Maureen Daniyan described the moment as a period to loosen up, celebrate, gather and share joy with family and friends.
“It’s a moment to be lively, enjoy, dine, sing and have a nice time,” she stated.
While fielding questions from journalists present at the event, Mrs. Daniyan, informed that COWA PTML on Wednesday visited Women Correctional Centre in Kirikiri. “This is a Corporate Social Responsibility done to provide emotional support and spiritual guidance.

“We also held one day mental health and medical outreach programme to address emotional well-being of Customs’ Officers families,” she stated.
Various activities such as drama, Christmas Carol, games and bouncing castle, aimed at creating an inclusive atmosphere, were put in place to keep the tempo of the day high and jolly.
It was a moment for all Officers and Stakeholders’ present to celebrate their achievements, reflect on the year and also strengthen bonds.
Another highlight of the event was the palliative distribution and prescription glasses given to some members of COWA, which aligned with medical outreach programme initiated to address the physical and emotional well-being of Customs Officers’ families.
The Customs Area Controller of the Command, Comptroller Tenny Daniyan, in his vote of thanks, expressed appreciation to all members of COWA and all Stakeholders for making the event a memorable one, enjoining them to sustain the tempo of collaboration.
“The take away of the event today, ‘Joyful spirit is good mercy’. I will like to use the opportunity to appreciate everybody, COWA Chairperson, all COWA members, Stakeholders, Press and all invited guests. Well done, keep it up. Thank You for today and thank you for having the Children around, may we all cross over to 2025 with Joy and Peace,” he prayed.
Meanwhile, in a related development, the Customs Area Controller of the Command, Comptroller Tenny Daniyan was awarded Best Trade Facilitator Officer of the year 2024 by the National Coordinator of Save Nigeria Importers, Freight Forwarders and Exporters Coalition, SNIFFIEC, Chief Osita Patrick Chukwu.
The prestigious Diamond Award of Excellence was given to the Area Controller earlier on Thursday in his Command and it’s in accordance with his ability to demonstrate qualitative service delivery.
His character in serving the nation, bringing his expertise to bear through the agency, together with his antecedent made this honour an epoch ceremony.
