The Comptroller General of Customs, CGC Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, has on Tuesday condemned the unethical behaviors of two Officers of Seme Area Command, caught in a viral video mistreating some members of the Public.
He directed that the officers should be taken to Nigeria Customs Service Headquarters for a full-scale investigation and decisive disciplinary measures, and further requested the complainants(victims) to make themselves available to assist in the investigation.
This is coming on the heels of the outcome of investigation launched into an alleged maltreatment of some individuals by two Officers in a viral video by the Customs Area Controller of the Command, Comptroller Kayode Kolade, on Monday, 2 December 2024.

CGC Adeniyi condemned in strong terms this unethical conduct saying “The behavior of these officers does not reflect the professional practice of the service, especially now that the Service is committed to holding its officers to the highest standard of Integrity and professionalism.
“The Service remains committed to ensuring transparency in all its operational mandates. As such, it will not condone any form of misconduct within its ranks and will continue to work for the overall interest of the Nigerian Public,” he stated.
The two erring Officers were handed over to the Customs Police Unit for further investigation by Deputy Comptroller in charge of Enforcement, Istifanus Musa, who represented the Area Controller of the Command at a briefing held at the Command’s Headquarters on Tuesday 3 December 2024.
