The Customs Area Controller, TinCan Island Port Command of the Nigeria Customs Service, Compt Dera Nnadi on Monday 30 September 2024 has reaffirmed commitment to make business environment conducive for all Stakeholders operating within the Command.

Comptroller Dera made the assurance while engaging all Stakeholders operating within the premises on new Rules of Engagement, saying the management is working on the modalities of making space available for those working within the Headquarters premises.

He pledged to replicate what is done at newly created bonded terminals to the Command’s headquarters.

“I have ensured that all new created bonded terminals domiciled in TinCan Port have space available for stakeholders while they go about their businesses, but at the headquarters here, no such space has been created. I will look critically into it as renovations are on going in the premises. I will enjoin you all to learn to keep the environment clean, as a clean environment portrays a healthy lifestyle,” he stated.

In the statement made available by the Command’s PRO, Ngozi Okwara, for the Area Controller, Comptroller Dera also appreciated the Stakeholders mutual collaboration with the Command especially on efforts to make year 2024 revenue realizable.

He re-emphasized his theme for the year 2024, “A year For Stakeholders,” noting that the well-being of those visiting the area command for business is a priority to him, the command and the service.

“The Customs Area Controller TCIP, Compt DA Nnadi mni today 30 September 2024 at about 1215 hours, had a small talk with stakeholders at the area command.

“The chat was on new modalities of what is expected of stakeholders who do business in the Command on a daily basis.

“Highlighting that the year is at its last quarter, he appreciated all efforts put in to ensure that the revenue for the year is achieved as he calls for compliance as all hands on deck can make it happen.

“Again, the CAC emphasised the struggles stakeholders go through during the ember season, especially towards the end of the year, stating that geniue declarations from complaint traders will not have issues of delay but for those who think they can circumvent the system should have themselves to blame as cutting of corners will not be negotiated.

“He went further that he has ensured that all new created bonded terminals domiciled in TinCan Port has space available for stakeholders while they go about their businesses, but at the headquarters here, no such space has been created. He promised that he would look critically into it as renovations are on going in the premises. He advised the stakeholders to learn to keep the environment clean, pending when new bins will be distributed at designated areas, as a clean environment portrays a healthy lifestyle,” the statement read.
