...Takes Delivery of Second Brand New Embraer E-175 Jet

Overland Airways, Nigeria’s longest serving domestic airline has announced the commencement of direct flight services on Lagos- Abuja route.
Beginning from August 9, 2024, the airline will offer regular daily direct flights between Nigeria’s economic hub Lagos and the administrative capital Abuja, operating over 60 weekly frequencies between the two cities to boost capacity on the route.
In a statement made available by the company on Monday, this new service will be delivered with Overland Airways’ brand new Embraer E-175 jets in a two-class configuration of Premium and Economy cabins and it will offer travellers unparalleled convenience and comfort.
The airline’s Executive Director, Mrs Aduke Atiba, said: “The introduction of this new route is part of Overland’s commitment to meeting the growing demand for convenient and comfortable air services between Lagos and Abuja, and relieving Nigerians of the difficulties they are experiencing on the route. The addition of the Lagos to Abuja return direct service to our expanding route network represents a significant milestone in our journey to serve our valued customers better.”
Similarly, the airline took delivery of its second of six Embraer E-175 aircraft ordered since the 2021 Dubai Airshow in June 2024. The first E175 was delivered in September 2023 and four more are expected to join the fleet. The E175 is a dual-class 88-seater modern jet aircraft.
Speaking on the new aircraft delivery, Mrs Atiba noted that, “Whether traveling for business or pleasure, we welcome passengers to experience comfort in our Premium Cabin. With the delivery of the latest brand new Embraer E-175 jet aircraft, Overland Airways is set to launch flight services to more destinations in Nigeria and across West Africa. We assure our esteemed customers of quality and consistent service that Overland Airways is known for”.
Overland Airways commenced operations in 2002 with the aim of increasing the prosperity of the Nigerian hinterland by facilitating the transportation of business men, investors, government officials and indigenes from one point to another and till date, is the pride of Nigeria in the airline industry.
