As part of his commitment to improve overall well-being of Officers and Men of the Service, the Comptroller General of Customs, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi has again led a work life balance exercise, this time in Kano on Saturday, 27th July 2024.
Recall that the CGC led the exercise in Abuja earlier this year with a 6.6-kilometer ‘Walk Life Balance’ at the iconic Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Abuja, on Saturday morning of 6 January 2024.
This was aimed at achieving a balance between the rigorous demands of the Officers’ work and the need to stay fit and stay healthy.
In a statement signed by the Service’s Spokesman, Abdullahi Aliyu Maiwada, Saturday’s exercise, which took place at the Kano Race Course, saw active participation from the officers and men of the Kano/Jigawa Command.
He said the fitness initiative, underscores CGC Adeniyi’s dedication to harmonizing the demands of a rigorous customs profession with the imperative of maintaining physical and mental health.
Speaking at the event, the CGC emphasised the importance of regular physical activity for overall health officers and men. He further encouraged all officers to incorporate exercise into their daily routines as such activities contribute to better service delivery and operational efficiency.
This exercise does not not only exemplifies the CGC’s leadership but also sets a precedent for a thriving and resilient Nigeria Customs Service for the year 2024.
The work-life balance initiative is one of many strategies by the Nigeria Customs Service aimed at promoting the well-being of its officers and ensuring they are fit to meet the demands of their duties.
