Just as Assistant Comptroller General of Customs, ACG Saidu Abba Yusuf handed over Mantle of Leadership of the Port Terminal Multiservice Limited Command(PTML), Nigeria Customs Service, to Comptroller Tenny Mankini Daniyan in a brief handover ceremony, the new Area Controller has pledged to enhance trade Facilitation and also maximize revenue collection.

Speaking at a ceremony held last Friday, Comptroller Daniyan assured Stakeholders and Officers that his administration will fully implement the provisions of the Nigeria Customs Service Act(NCSA) 2023 by ensuring maximum revenue collection and enhanced trade facilitation.

The new Area Controller said the command will step up strategies to prevent revenue leakages in the drive to achieve government economic goal through the NCS.

He equally promised to leverage on the existing experience and robust interaction he gathered in PTML over the years where he had served as Deputy Comptroller (DC) in charge of revenue.

On trade facilitation, the new Helmsman urged stakeholders to be compliant by making sincere declarations and paying their duties on time to build a track record of integrity if they must enjoy the many opportunities being created by the Comptroller General of Customs, Adewale Adeniyi.

Similarly, he also promised to build on the existing customs community relations through regular stakeholder engagements and promote other programmes like the Time Release Study (TRS), which is in line with the policy thrust of the Comptroller General of Customs.

“The command will work to achieve migration of compliant stakeholders to the Authorised Economic Operator (AEO) status and guide them on how to benefit from the Advanced Ruling Scheme put in place by the CGC,” he added.

However in his remarks, the outgone ACG Abba Yusuf thanked the CGC for the leadership prowess deployed in the Service and also described his successor, Comptroller Daniyan as a competent officer that will deploy all strategies within his reach to take the command to the next level.

He expressed optimism that all the achievements recorded under him will be surpassed under Daniyan and also described the deployments being made by the CGC as strategic and thoughtful.

The ACG further solicited for increased cooperation of all the importers, licensed customs agents, freight forwarders and the management of Grimaldi with the new CAC.

“ACG Yusuf has assumed office in the Human Resources Department of the NCS Headquarters. As a seasoned customs officer, Comptroller Daniyan has worked at several areas and successfully served in various positions within the service. He has also attended courses and served as an instructor/lecturer in the service training institution,” the Command’s Spokesman, Chief Superintendent of Customs Yakubu Muhammad said in a statement
