Comptroller Ahmadu Bello Shuaibu, immediate past Area Controller of Ogun 1 Area Command, Idiroko, Nigeria Customs Service, has urged critical Stakeholders within idiroko Community and border area to fully support the new Area Controller of the Command, Comptroller James Folorunsho Ojo in achieving the set mandate.
Comptroller Shuaibu made the call while handing over baton to the new Area Controller at the Command’s Conference Room on Tuesday 16, April 2024.
He appealed for the steadfast support rendered to him during his tenure be extended to the new Controller.
While congratulating Comptroller Ojo on his new appointment and officially welcoming him to the Command, he noted that the new Controller’s appointment speaks volumes of his capabilities and every members have the confidence he will lead with integrity, vision and excellence.
“As you assumed your new responsibilities, know that you have the unwavering support of your colleagues and the trust of those you now leads,” Comptroller Shuaibu told Comptroller Ojo.
He also called on Officers and Men of the Command to intensify their efforts, extend maximum support and cooperation to the new administration in order to sustain the Command’s performance tempo.
Speaking further, Comptroller Shuaibu who has also been redeployed to Federal Operations Unit FOU Zone B, Kaduna, as Area Controller of the Unit, lauded Comptroller General of Customs Bashir Adewale Adeniyi MFR, for the redeployment exercise, saying change over baton ceremony marks a transition, passing of power from one capable leader to another, ensuring the seamless continuity of Customs Operations and the preservation of her objectives.
“It is a moment of reflection, appreciation, and anticipation as we embrace change and stride forward together as a unified force,” he said.
On achievements made, Comptroller Shuaibu affirmed that the Command experienced substantial increase in revenue generation, witnessed enhanced anti-Smuggling exploits with minimum to zero casualties and has added value to overall development of the Command.
He added the Command also engaged in laudable Corporate Social Responsibilities(CSR), which was made possible by the unwavering support of the NCS Headquarters, the dedicated efforts of the Command’s brave Officers and Men and the Collaborative efforts of it’s critical Stakeholders.
Meanwhile in his speech, Comptroller James Folorunsho Ojo commended his predecessor for his dedication to duty, commitment, and leadership skills exhibited during his tenure and for his laudable achievements.
He also used the medium to solicit the unflinching support and cooperation of members of the management team, Officers and Men of the Command and critical Stakeholders across the border, saying a tree cannot make a forest as he will build on the Open door policy deployed by his predecessor.
“I appreciate team work and my door is widely open for consultation. As we witnessed this transition today, let us reaffirm our collective commitment to the ideals and objectives that define our Command. Let us pledge to work hand in hand, fostering teamwork, communication and collaboration at every turn. Together, we will overcome challenges, Seizes opportunities, and continue to uphold the standards of excellence for which the Ogun 1 Area Command is renowned,” he said.
