Comptroller Odusanya cutting Valentine Day Cake with his Dedicated Officers
The Lilypond Export Command of the Nigeria Customs Service said it processed 48,231 metric tonnes of export goods with shipment value of $96,286,266.35, that is N146,018,122,919.78k in January 2024.
Area Controller of the Command, Comptroller Ajibola Odusanya disclosed this in Lagos, saying about 1,164 containers of 20 feet and 1,019 container of 40 feet were processed for export weighing 48, 231 metric tonnes.
In an exclusive interview with some journalists at the Command’s Headquarter on Wednesday 14, February 2024, the Comptroller, who is also the Chief Export Facilitator for the South West region, explained that within the period under review, over one hundred million naira (N100,174,773.51k) has been paid into the Nigeria Export Supervision Scheme(NESS) levy account.
Comptroller Odusanya explained further that the Federal government of Nigeria designed the Nigerian Export Supervision Scheme (NESS) to ensure that the quality and quantity of goods comply with Export Regulations and price quoted to prevent capital flight and ensure that Nigerian products maintain a competitive advantage in relation to other exporting countries in the world.
Speaking on the articulated lorries parked within the Command, Comptroller Odusanya said their presence depicted Nigeria increasing rate of embracing export business. “When you see the lorries there, all the containers are laden with export goods and judging by the number of containers we have processed in January, one can conveniently say that Nigerians are now embracing exportation business positively,” he said
The Export Command’s Boss, who also celebrated Valentine Day with his dedicated officers, charged his officers to be more diligent, facilitate jobs and show love not only to their lovers but those they meet in the course of discharging their duties.
His words “My message to officers today, Valentine Day is for them to show love, care, to all stakeholders they meet while discharging their duties and they should also help facilitate trade.
