The former Dockworkers President and immediate past President General of the Maritime Workers Union of Nigeria (MWUN), Comrade Emmanuel Anthony Nted has urged  all the executives of MWUN to genuinely support and cooperate with the current President General of the Union, Prince Dr. Adewale Adeyanju, especially as his tenure is rounding up, praying that God Almighty will  guide him, give him the divine wisdom to leave the Union with a better successor.

The enigmatic former labour administrator made the call on Friday, 19th January 2024, when leadership of the Union under the aegis of Comrade(Prince) Dr. Adewale Adeyanju in convoy of his National Administrative Council (NAC) paid a courtesy visit to him in his Festac home, Lagos.

During the visit, the PG popularly known as the “Son of God” made references from the Holy Books, saying  “for everything men engaged in life, men should always be of good cheers at all times and should endeavor to forgive one another.”

The former Dockworkers President Nted, who also served as the Vice President of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC),  was full of praises for the man he calls “Ade”, when he said, “Ade” did not let him down as the President – General of the Union when he bequeathed the leadership position of MWUN to him.

Nted had left the Maritime Workers Union of Nigeria on a glorious note, leaving a huge legacy as he handed over to the indefatigable incumbent Prince Adeyanju, who immediately keyed into Nted’s principles and philosophy of leadership carrying out in totality his dynamic footprints of leadership. And this is evident in the huge successes and achievements recorded so far within the Union and the entire maritime sector.

A statement signed by Com. John Kennedy Ikemefuna, Head of Media, MWUN, partly read that the official visit to the enigmatic labour administrator was for the good interest of the Union and indeed informed on the PG Emeritus successful return from a British Hospital, where he went for a routine medical check up.

“This one visit that comprised all the top executives and administrative staffers were to also wish him a sound mind, pray for him for good health, enmeshed in him longevity and to felicitate with him and his household for the new year 2024.”

Prince Adeyanju in company of his branch presidents and top executives reciprocated in same vein, thanking him for all the good works he accomplished while he served  the Union. remembering his digital Union legacy, “his relative peace initiatives in the Union had continued to thrive and some other quality leadership legacies which the present administration had continued to build upon for the generality well being of the Union, believing same that those legacies will continue to be the Union’s symbol and baton of enduring relay.”
